Why is defense so difficult to play in this game

I’m almost at a breaking point wit this game on how bad the defense is… catches on 2-3 players, players in zones just standing there letting the defense do whatever the fuck they want genuinely I DONT know what else to do. I run commit and he breaks 2-3 tackles, I pass commit and shade outside, underneath, overtop etc and my players refuse to guard their zones. Mind you this is with a 85 overall team. What else do I need to do? How are you guys playing consistent defense on this game from hell?

It’s the one reason I may end up playing MUT. I think they intentionally make D like this to replicate the college game, make it high scoring.

That said, I’ve had a fair few picks from rotating coverages. Cover 2 trap and cover 6 work well when mixed in with cover 3, tampa 2, man and man blitz. I run these from double mug and 3-4 odd. People just assume you’re blitzing so it catches them out, especially if you press.

Its like this every single cycle. There will be no defense in Madden early either. Then better players come out and over time Defense takes over the game.
