Unable to get into lobby (full squad)

Every time my friends and I try to play we either experience

1.) don't get into a game at all

2.) freeze at the player cards

3.)  unable to pick plays during and after kick off

Or

4.) actually able to play a game (at least 50% of the time)

Is there a way to fix this? Or is this all EA? I know a lot of people were experiencing this near launch but idk if it's just us now...

for me my squad had season 2 (flanagan,ekeler and etc )players and when we removed them it worked
