The one handed catch?.....?

I've seen content creators like Dyl and TapXMikey activate the one handed catch in games. How does it work? Is it a high ball pass? I'm not good at those. Usually over throw them. Lol. 

The one handed animation is really cool. I'd just like to learn how to do it. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks y'all. ✌️

High pass makes it look more cool...but you just press L1 on the PS5 to do it.
