People have now figured out that there is no penalty to continuously walking your qb backwards. I am more frequently running into people running 5 wide / empty and simply walking their qb back 15-20 to buy time and avoid pressure. They walk so far back and are still able to throw perfect 70 yard passes while off their back foot or with a defender right in front of them. It’s insanely ridiculous, unrealistic, and makes defense borderline unplayable. I hope this is fixable. I’m not bad on defense but there is nothing I can do about qbs throwing downfield across their body while being 20 yards behind the LOS. It’s comical.
I went into 25 to see the difference and it’s night and day. In 25, after walking back about 7 yards, you lose your receiver icons, have a much slower throwing motion, and it is an almost guaranteed red throw. It is not like this in 26. There is no penalty to throwing motion or accuracy no matter how far backwards you go. People are now abusing this sadly.
My QB overthrows when I stand still lol
My experience does not mirror yours, at least not with any consistency. Running backwards typically allows my DL to get free, makes their throws inaccurate, and gives my secondary more time to respond to the pass in the air.
