NMS: can I be competitive?

Started playing CUT in season 4, have not spent a dime…just grinding challenges and ladders. Currently have a 97 OVR theme team (all O and D chems plus school maxed) but with no single card higher than a 97 before chem boosts. Have maybe 400k training and 1.5M coins.

I’m seeing YouTubers with 99 cards in every slot, which allows them to run deep in Gauntlet, Honors H2H, etc… Not saying I’m elite on the sticks but there’s no way I’m consistently beating anybody with that cracked a team.

Is it even possible to build up a competitive no money spent team at this point? Am I overlooking some key strategy to acquire the elite cards without dumping cash and ripping packs?

You have a competitive team already. Base 97s can compete with any team. The main advantage of most costly players is cheaper abilities. Dumb but not that big of a deal.

DDA also helps the lesser teams. Also very dumb but as EA says, "its in the game".

Don't spend money on this game as it currently is designed. NMS is easy to be competitive.

Absolutely. Just put in time doing challenges and cross your fingets younget Lucky. Im nms and have almost all too Ltd cards. Just have to put in the work. I'm 600 hours in game is fun. Offline and online.
