Anyone know how to beat mid blitz? any rpos or plays that mess it up. Im in oregon PB
Interested in this as well.
Im not a pro but I have found some success with a few types of plays. My thought process is this: The corners and safeties are in man, so you have to call man beaters.
While it seems counter intuitive you can bust some big runs up the middle if your able to find a gap, it does not happen often for me but it has some times. Speed options and jet passes are also hit and miss with me, the option is good but it is always tricky with the pitch, I find the most success if I am in a trips set and the option is towards the trips side. (Gun Bunch, Gun Slot Right etc) More on that later.
The corners will most likely be in press, if you get this a lot, put quick jump on a WR and they will be open some times on streaks. I have found some success with slants as well or deep ins. The problem with deep ins is that they take a while so you need to block TEs and or RBs.
Going 5 wide can also be helpful because the 4th and 5th WR can't be pressed so they get off the ball quicker so quick outs can help.
The last thing is that your RB, if your in a formation with 3 WR to one side, is covered in man by the opposite side safety. So hitting your RB out of the backfield would give you some time to make a move or get a little up field.
Some of the more annoying mid blitzes know this so they will manually move their safety to the side of the RB to prevent this, in this case I go more 4-5 WR sets and block any TE or RB.
It's annoying but anytime you have a game, the object is to win, and these things tend to get you wins. It's not fun to play against but it is going to always happen. Just like in real life it's a cat and mouse game and there will always be new things to combat these types of "exploits" on either side of the ball.
I am by no means a football mind and am not a great player but I have been able to get guys out of the mid blitz with this strategy and then I can run the normal offense. I am positive there are better strategies out there so I am interested to see what others do.
Hope this helps
I've also had luck just running straight into it. Goaline sting can be effective. You can bust long TDs if you hit a gap. Surprisingly, at times I just pick up 5-7 yards repeatedly and it forces a defensive switch.
RPO
outside runs
jet sweeps
screen passes
streaks
its frustrating to play against but in my experience once you hit a few plays against it they will get out of it
stretch, jet sweep, jet touch pass.......if sending 4 block rb slide protect away and id dt on rb side.......if sending more block TE, block RB, slide protect away RB and id user or cb on rb side.....too be honest its a very very bum friendly low IQ defense lol you can do everything right and the opp will get 1 glitchy BS shed smh and that's all it takes

Which RPOS You run?
Zig routes DESTROY mid blitz.
Pistol HB Zone - change run to weak side.
TE Attack - look for quick hit over middle.
Seam routes from Gun Doubles - high passes preferred. Run a seam from both sides of LOS forcing the user to choose one and throw to the other.
1 of 2 things:
Run the Football: Run up the middle or option plays fry midblitz
Pass the Football: Block at least 6 (7 if not in shotgun), watch their user, ID the Mike as the left side lb, double team the left side lb, throw any of the best man beating routes (Corners, Zigs, Fades/Streaks if pressing, Posts, Slants)
Hope this helps
try zigs out of the slot, or from a tight formation. this is an easy win.
they will adjust by dropping that DE to the flat, if you zig both sides, they are forced to drop 2 blitzers.

Any formation with the te on the line make the te block and mid blitz will basically be useless and if that doesn't work just have the rb block to draws also work really well especially if they start switching to the fake mid blitz a draw kills that
To be honest I have had the most success with just running up the middle. My O line usually goes hat on hat with defenders and if their user isn't near the line or ready to make a play it is a touchdown.
HB trips wk in oregon playbook read option kills it

Hit rb out the flats, in routes, slants, drags, also sometimes one good block pick up and a big play will have them change that defense
