How is this game for casuals? Help an old guy that's new to CFB.

I've honestly been trying to avoid this (or any further EA releases), however, the kid just woke up today and requested "NCAA" for his birthday, he says no offense, it's better than Madden, Dad.  Heh.  Even the child seems to know i'm a full blown MUT junkie, oof.

Anyway, i'm not sure i have yet another (CUT) grind in me, but it now seems we'll be acquiring the game (and possibly/probably M25 pre-order, via MVP Bundle).  I just re-started (last year) Madden 23 after an extremely long break from "simulation" football.  Have admittedly never played any prior NCAA titles, those all dropped during my extended hiatus from console gaming.

Where should an old fart such as myself start as a brand new NCAA / College football player?  I've been pretty hardcore into Ultimate Team between M23 & M24 cycles, but I wanna branch out a bit, see what i might be missing -- keep hearing about Dynasty mode as the main lure.  I realize the game just dropped, but is college as ability driven as Madden, or what is some of THE best advice you can give a new college football player?

Definitely looking forward to some 2P local battles with my son, that's always worth the price of admission.  Even if Ultimate Team or other game modes remain pay to win, i'm cautiously optimistic we'll be able to enjoy it, as I do not anticipate I'll obsess over this as I tend to with Madden and anything surrounding or related to my beloved Scarlet & Gold.  Bang bang, baby.

What or where do you recommend this old goat starts?

Road To Glory. Allows you to learn the game and its mechanics whilst not being responsible for all 11. I suggest QB so you can get the eye. I play on sliders cracked for the CPU on Heisman difficulty. Coverages roll, are disguised , and you can’t just cheese the CPU to death. Restrictions and AI won’t allow you to. Not everyone is a 99 Across the board. It’s light years more realistic. When I switch back to m24 to play with my friends, it seems like I’m playing 7 on 7s. Makes any H2H Madden defense I’ve ever faced look like novice kid stuff. Never been more serious in my life  

I am playing RTG until I get sick of it. Then off to dynasty mode.

In an 8 hour collective of playing cfb25, I get angry and experience BS ONCE or TWICE where in madden it’s ONCE OR TWICE A PLAY. That’s the difference- NO GAME BREAKING DDA ANIMATIONS

Bottom line-

cfb is for REAL footballers. 
Madden is for no skill glitchers. You wanna play football? Cfb

You want the cpu to do everything for you and be constantly bailed out cuz you have no business in the football realm at all? Madden. Most kids on both sites are the latter.    

You don’t see anyone complaining when the CUT glitch benefits them, only against them.

Lol CFB is fun but there are still plenty of wtf moments in the game but i agree, not like Madden.

I think dynasty is the best part of the game but for a the first thing to do when you get it I would do Road to Glory

Thank you, will 100% be taking your advice and checking out RTG once we finally purchase this.  I'm not opposed to the offline grind, as long as the gameplay is engaging and hopefully somewhat consistent.  I do realize it's still EA after all, so bugs... they're in the game.

But yeah, i couldn't EVER play Madden (22-23) with my son when he was little, it constantly brought him to tears when basic football moves were somehow foreign, mostly playing 2P H2H Regs Quickplay.  Appreciate the shared experience and guidance here.  I'm quite familiar with Madden, but not so much the college football experience.

THANK YOU, that's exactly the type info i was hoping for here.  Seems consensus is RTG is the place to start and I will be doing exactly that.  How soon, i'm not so sure... but probably by/before the weekend.
