Desmond Howard or Tavon Austin?

I have LTD Desmond Howard and while he is amazing, I feel like Tavon is gonna get Silver abilities which would obviously make him more valuable.

Are Season 1 players going to be outdated soon? If this happens then even Redux versions of Season 1 players would be pointless
