Been down since that 24-48 period of no auction house, not as tuned in as some of y'all. any announcement or update on when they might re-enable the feature?

I don't think anything has been communicated from EA regarding it. From my understanding, the bid feature was giving back the wrong amount of coins if you didn't win the auction, so I believe it's the reason they shut down the AH in the first place.

oh shoot. i never really ever looked at that when i didnt win an auction or got into a bidding war on a card. wonder if i lost coin, and how much

Apparently it wasn't taking coins, but giving you back too many coins. It was giving you back double what you bid.
