I just played a guy that had guys with 91 speed and my 97 speed players couldn't guard them. Why.do.i even upgrade players.

I never understood this and just experienced this. Is there a strat item I can use to help my players holding onto the ball.? I do use the square button on PS5 which seems to help. Lost to a player where I knew exactly what he was doing, but his players did not drop a single pass even with tight blanketed coverage.

Happens all the time.
I'm not a perfect player by any means, but the rating gap definitely gets adjusted in h2h and I tend to just quit.

It happened to us in squads other day. 93 overall WR with 93 speed would just run away from entire defense on a drag. I knew it was going to be one of the great equilizer games when we fumbled on the opening kickoff return and 2 of our guys dove to recover it only to not get it, and then they somehow recovered it. At first we thought they must have had one of those top 100 player type of teams since we didn't recognize anyone on their offense but nope, just a complete crap squad that blew our 99-99 overall player defense up. Our WR's would drop everything when contested and their 93 overall WRs and 91 overall TE would catch it getting smashed through contact every time.... We ended up losing by 3 but it was just one of those games where they got the boosted player kinda game and nothing we could do about it.
