When everyone begins a new game with a clean slate, Coins at the start of a new Ultimate Team mode are always valuable as it takes time to accumulate them as you play. That's why it's important to find areas on your team where you can save a little while still getting great value out of the player on the field. Our friend PopularStranger made a helpful video this Monday on his new CFB YouTube channel sharing some of his favorite budget options!
Keep in mind this video came out on Monday, so the price has dropped even lower on many of his recommendations as new content has been released. We've even added 1 new offensive and 1 new defensive player that Pop has his eyes on that released after his video this week! Check out Pop's video at the very top of this article or continue reading for his current budget beasts:

84 Will Howard | QB | Ohio State
Estimated Price: Free
A great budget option to start things off is 84 Will Howard at QB. This card can be earned for free by leveling up the Season 1 Field Pass and reaching Level 10, 30, 40, or 48. At each level, a Fantasy Pack is rewarded with Will Howard as an option to select. Howard has enough speed to extend some plays and enough throwing accuracy at all 3 levels to be serviceable early on in CUT. (81 SPD, 83 SAC, 82 MAC, 82 DAC)
85 Cameron Rising | QB | Utah
Estimated Price: ~65,000 Coins
He's not the most agile QB available, but for pocket passers looking for good throw power and accuracy, Cameron Rising is a good option for you to consider. (77 SPD, 86 THP, 82 SAC, 85 MAC, 84 DAC)
85 Pat White | QB | West Virginia
Estimated Price: ~95,000 Coins
For fans of mobile quarterbacks, WVU Legend QB Pat White is a great option if Lamar Jackson is out of your price range. Pat White is left-handed, so you'll need to be ok with that slight change if you want to use him. Michael Vick enthusiasts from Madden should have no trouble. White has great throw power and enough accuracy short and mid to get the job done. His deep accuracy leaves a bit to be desired though. (85 SPD, 85 THP, 83 SAC, 81 MAC, 76 DAC)
85 Marshall Faulk | HB | San Diego State
Estimated Price: ~100,000 Coins
SPD is always one of the most important ratings for most positions, especially early in a UT game mode. That's why 85 OVR Legend Marshall Faulk is a halfback worth more than his current price with his 85 SPD rating. At the moment, most other budget options will have about 83-84 SPD around that current price. If you can wait until the new Legends release this Sunday, Faulk's price should drop even more. (85 SPD, 85 ACC, 74 CTH, 84 BTK, 84 COD)
85 Mike Evans | WR | Texas A&M
Estimated Price: ~170,000 Coins
This is the one exception to Pop's limit of 150,000 Coins for his video because Mike Evans is THAT good right now and most comparable WRs can cost you nearly double that amount. Evans has top-end speed at this point in CUT, stands at 6'5'', and can run routes at every level. (85 SPD, 85 CTH, 85 SRR, 84 MRR, 83 DRR)
84 Tory Horton | WR | Colorado State
Estimated Price: ~70,000 Coins
If you don't have the Coins for Evans, 84 OVR Core Tory Horton is someone to look at who has balanced ratings in everything that matters most for a WR. You will struggle to find many comparable options with 83 SPD around his price right now in CUT. (83 SPD, 82 pretty much everything else)
83 Jeremiah Smith | WR | Ohio State
Estimated Price: ~105,000 Coins
If you need a true deep-threat WR with 85 SPD and 83 DRR who is 6'3'' and affordable, 83 OVR SOTW Jeremiah Smith is a great option that was released after Pop's video was recorded. Smith's 77 SRR and 79 MRR ratings are a bit low for a WR, but he has the speed to keep defenses a few yards deeper than normal. To see Pop's review of this card, click here.
Defense

85 Jah-Marien Latham | LE | Alabama
Estimated Price: ~80,000 Coins
This has been one of Pop's favorite pass rushers early on in CUT. Latham has a top-end block shed rating with great TAK, PRC, and PMV ratings. Pop's prediction about Latham getting cheaper after this week's SOTW release was spot on. When Pop's video was recorded, Latham was going for about 150k and now can be found for under 90k on Xbox. (80 SPD, 85 TAK, 84 PRC, 84 BSH, 85 PMV, 81 FMV)
84 Ashton Gillotte | LE | Louisville
Estimated Price: ~55,000 Coins
Gillotte's 83 OVR Heisman Hopeful pre-order item is a great DE to get started with, but if you didn't receive the pre-order pack or didn't select Gillotte, his 84 OVR Core Elite is slightly better and cost-friendly. (82 SPD, 83 STR, 83 BSH, 81 PMV, 82 FMV)
85 Booger McFarland | DT | LSU
Estimated Price: ~110,000 Coins
While SPD is always nice for a DT, it isn't always as important for a DT as it is for many other defensive positions. Legend Booger McFarland's 70 SPD rating is respectable enough to help plug the middle of the line. Where Booger excels the most is his strength, block shed, and power move ratings. (70 SPD, 85 STR, 86 BSH, 85 PMV)
85 Eric Kendricks | MLB | UCLA
Estimated Price: ~75,000 Coins
If you're looking for a middle linebacker to user or let the A.I. control, a great option for under 100k is Ultimate Alumni Eric Kendricks. He has enough speed to control manually and high enough zone and play recognition ratings to let the A.I. take over while you handle business elsewhere. (83 SPD, 85 TAK, 84 POW, 83 ZCV)
84 Cobee Bryant | CB | Kansas
Estimated Price: Free
Like QB Will Howard, 84 OVR Cobee Bryant can be earned for free at Season 1 Level 10, 30, 40, or 48 if you select him from the Fantasy Pack you receive. His 83 SPD is solid considering he can be earned for free because once you start looking for faster cornerbacks, you better have plenty of Coins to spare! (83 SPD, 83 ACC, 83 ZCV, 83 PRC, 80 PRS)
83 T.J. Crandall | CB | West Virginia
Estimated Price: ~40,000 Coins
This is a budget option whose value has dipped nearly in half since Pop made his video and another SOTW release went live. For the same reason Cobee Bryant is on this list, Crandall's 83 SPD is great value for the price. His coverage ratings are balanced in man and zone as well. (83 SPD, 83 MCV, 83 ZCV, 82 PRS)
82 Rod Moore | FS | Michigan
Estimated Price: ~20,000 Coins
Rod Moore is a great super-budget option for those looking to really make each Coin count right now. With a bit of patience, the 6'0'' FS Ultimate Alumni Moore can be picked up for under 20,000 Coins on the Xbox market right now. (82 SPD, 81 ACC, 81 TAK, 81 PUR, 80 ZCV, 81 POW)
83 Andrew Mukuba | FS | Texas
Estimated Price: ~40,000 Coins
If you're looking for slightly more speed and coverage ratings at FS than Rod Moore has to offer, Andrew Mukuba is worth a look for a few more Coins. Just be aware that he has a terrible tackle rating. (83 SPD, 83 ACC, 69 TAK, 82 MCV, 83 ZCV)
83 King Mack | FS | Penn State
Estimated Price: ~70,000 Coins
An 85+ SPD rating on a free safety is difficult to find for under 200k in CUT right now, so King Mack's 85 SPD and roughly 75,000 Coin price certainly stand out as a budget beast. This card was released after Pop's initial video, but you can watch his breakdown HERE. (85 SPD, 82 ZCV)
87 Corey Thomas Jr. | SS | Virginia
Estimated Price: Free
While this card may be free, if you've ever heard the saying "time is money" then you know it's not really free. However, it does not cost any Coins to acquire since it can not be picked up from the Auction House. If you want 87 OVR SS Corey Thomas Jr. for your team, you must win 250 games of House Rules before the Season ends later this month. (85 SPD, 86 ACC, 86 TAK, 85 MCV, 77 ZCV, 83 POW)
84 R.J. Mickens | SS | Clemson
Estimated Price: ~115,000 Coins
If 250 wins in House Rules doesn't sound like your thing and you have the Coins, R.J. Mickens from Clemson could be worth adding. Mickens stands 6'0'' with 84 SPD, which is top 10 in CUT right now for a strong safety, while remaining one of the cheaper options of the elite speed group. (84 SPD, 83 ACC, 83 PRC, 82 MCV, 81 ZCV, 82 POW)
84 Shyheim Brown | SS | Florida State
Estimated Price: ~140,000 Coins
Another option worth looking at is Florida State's SS Shyheim Brown. Mickens and Brown are the only 2 players to significantly increase in price since Pop's video went live with both jumping by approximately 20k. The 6'2'' safety has great speed and coverage abilities but will cost a little more than most players mentioned today. (84 SPD, 83 ACC, 82 MCV, 83 ZCV, 83 POW)
