As a new player, it can be a bit daunting to take a look at the challenges and see the list of available challenges. Some of them will be easy to take on with a beginning team, while others won't. Below, I'll be going over my recommendations of what to do and which challenge to avoid for now until you have a better team.
TLDR:
If you have a brand new team, complete UT 101-401, Orientation, and what's your offense/defense? challenges for 75-80 OVR Players. Do the Video Labyrinth for the retro cartridge and Standouts: Shining Stars Challenges for 80+ OVR Standouts players. Complete other program challenges to upgrade your team. Do the Diamonds in the Rough challenge once you have a better team, as these are the hardest challenges available at the moment. The S1 Colosseum challenge rewards are meh at the moment, but not all challenges are out yet, so not an immediate do this, but don't fall too far behind.
Upgrade Player Tip
There are many players with upgrades that can earn Skill Points through objectives. Having these players in your lineup as you go through challenges is a great way to complete them. Below are just a few examples of players who can earn SP through objectives:
- Season 1 Upgrade Players (Whit Weeks, Zechariah Poyser, Andrew Marsh, Iapani Laloulu)
- While the majority of their SP will come from S1 SP Exchange tokens, you can earn four SP by completing their objectives as well as S1 XP. The objectives vary by S1 player; some examples include gaining 3000 Yards, scoring 150 points, scoring 20 extra points, and getting 100 first downs.
- Standouts Stanquan Clark
- Objectives consist of goals like: score 180 Points, score 10 rushing TDs, gain 500 Passing yards, and other similar objectives.
- Sunday Spotlight Peter Clarke
- Similar to Stanquon, Peter Clarke has objectives like: get 120 first downs, complete 96 catches, gain 1,200 passing yards, and more
- Core Starters (Ex. Core Starter Anthony Smith)
- The core starter you have depends on the starting team you chose, but they all should have the same objectives for SP
- Record 1,000 yards
- Play a game
- Play 5 games
- Win 5 games
- Score 100 points
- The core starter you have depends on the starting team you chose, but they all should have the same objectives for SP
What's your offense?/What's your defense? Challenges
If you have a brand new team, I recommend completing all of these for the milestone rewards. They consist of 75-80 OVR Player Packs, as well as some coins. Each offensive and defensive scheme has a set of three challenges. Completing the first challenge will reward you with the generic version of the formation playbook. Completing the third challenge will reward you with a fantasy pack to select a specific team that runs that playbook.
- Total Milestone Rewards
- x7 75-80 OVR Player Pack
- 41,000 Coins
- 2x 80 OVR BND Player Pack
See what playbooks belong to what chemistry using the following links DEFENSE and OFFENSE
As pointed out by CFB.FAN user, EmmanuelA. You can quicksell the Playbooks gotten Fantasy Packs from the What's your Offense/Defense for 5000 coins each and you may be able to Auction them away for slightly more than that.
Orientation + Ultimate Team 101/201/301/401
These are easy challenges to complete, even with a new team, as they're on Varsity difficulty on Arcade mode. While they don't reward that many coins, they reward plenty of 75-80 OVR Player Packs, which will be great in getting your team off the ground. Also, if you're new to the game, these challenges will teach you a bit more about different features in the game.
- Total Milestone Rewards
- x20 75-80 OVR Player Packs (x7 are labeled as account-bound)
- 16,000 Coins
- 75 OVR Edwin Spillman (Orientation)

Program Specific Challenges
Throughout the year, most programs will have solo challenges. These can vary in difficulty and reward. The current programs that I'll be going over are Season 1, Cornerstones, Standouts, Legends, and Sunday Spotlight.
Season 1 Colosseum
In my opinion, these challenges are ones you can come back to once you've done everything else. While they aren't difficult to complete, the rewards are pretty negligible at the moment, with rewards up to 90 stars being shown. It seems they'll be adding more challenges and rewards as the season goes on, so you probably don't want to fall too far behind, though.
- 8,000 Total Coins
- 30 Stars | Victory Formation Pack BND
- 60 Stars | Season 1 Uncommon BND Fantasy Pack
- 90 Stars | Field Goal Pack
Sunday Spotlight: Video Labyrinth
I would recommend doing the Video Labyrinth challenges. Completing each week's sequence of Labyrinth challenges will reward you with coins, packs, and, most importantly, a Retro Cartridge. The coin and pack rewards are decent, and the Retro Cartridge is used to enter the College Blitz Solo event. Earn points toward your event rewards by winning the game, getting touchdowns, sacks, and more. Completing the event will give you a High Score Token, which is used in sets, and another 78+ BND Sunday Spotlight Reward pack.
- Sunday Spotlight Retro Sets
- x7 Tokens | 88 OVR BND Devin Hester
- If you've missed a week, you likely cannot get Devin Hester anymore.
- x5 Tokens | 83+ OVR BND Retro Player
- x1 Token | 80+ OVR BND Retro Player
- x7 Tokens | 88 OVR BND Devin Hester
- Current Milestone Rewards:
- 5 Stars | 1000 Coins
- 10 Stars | Sunday Spotlight: Retro 78+ OVR BND Reward Pack
- 15 Stars | 1000 Coins
- 20 Stars | Sunday Spotlight: Retro 78+ OVR BND Reward Pack
- 25 Stars | 1000 Coins
- 30 Stars | Sunday Spotlight: Retro 80+ OVR BND Reward Pack
Keep in mind: Video Labyrinth challenges have a max of 8 downs

Standouts
Standouts is a weird one because it's got Shining Stars and Diamonds in the Rough. The Shining Stars Sequences aren't too difficult to complete. You'll get coins, 80+ and 82+ OVR Standouts BND Player Packs from the milestone rewards you hit by completing Shining Stars challenges. If choosing between Program Challenges, I would start here because it rewards the highest OVR players at the moment.
However, this is where Diamonds in the Rough steps in. Since they're both in the Standouts challenges, they both contribute to the Milestone Rewards for Standouts. These are difficult challenges set at Heisman difficulty with multiple requirements to reach max stars. Completing these challenges is how you earn the Standouts Tokens for upgrading Standouts Stanquan Clark and completing Standouts sets.
I would recommend doing the Shining Stars challenges first to build up your team. Even with just the stars from the Shining Stars sequences, you'll get a decent amount of reward packs. If you need to, complete the challenges of other programs for more players before returning to the Diamond in the Rough Challenges.

*Star counts seem to be off at the moment. For example, Shining Stars II says you can earn 100 Stars, but there are only 10 challenges with 5 stars to earn each.
Legends + Sunday Spotlight: Retro + Cornerstones
New weekly challenges that aren't too difficult to complete and reward player packs from their specific program. These are what I would consider the regular program challenges. Whether it's for these programs or future programs, I would always recommend keeping up with them. They're a good way to earn players from the most recent programs. Keep in mind that these reward packs are usually account-bound (BND), meaning they can't be auctioned, used in sets, and quicksell for 1/4 of the normal value.
While I'd recommend doing all of them, if I had to order them, I'd do Cornerstones first since they have the highest OVR rewards of the three (by 1 OVR), then Legends since it rewards coins and packs, and finally Sunday Spotlight: Retro.

For future programs with similar challenges and reward setups, I would prioritize the challenges that give the highest OVR reward packs.
Some Challenges require you to get laterals. Ex. Entry 008 in Video Labyrinth 1 requires 3+ laterals in a drive. Usually, what I've been doing for these is calling a run play and having my RB lateral it to the QB. The QB typically won't get it, so I switch to the QB to pick it up and run it forward.
