I have a 91 overall offense.
And half the time lately I feel like I can't do shit. I refuse to run the same cheese plays over and over again like these guys who are constantly running zigs, drags, and Texas routes all game out of Y Off Trips and Offset Y.
I used to be able to come out and run the offense the way I wanted, pound the rock and make them stack the box and go into cover 0 or press their receivers up. Now it just don't matter. They seem to always be able to stop the run and stop the mid to deep pass at the same time no matter what. They always seem to pick their defensive play before I do and come out in the perfect formation to stop it. They ALWAYS know when it's a dive, when it's a draw, when it's a counter, when it's a touch pass. I feel like I can't fool anyone anymore no matter what I come out in.
Then my pass blocking? Holy shit the pass blocking. I literally have the best player available at every position on the O-Line but it doesn't matter. They always run these blitzes that come in unblocked no matter who I identify as the mike, no matter how I slide my protection, no matter if I audible the HB or the TE to block and release or just straight block. My receivers never even have enough time to get open. I can't seem to get Shedeur Sanders to move and run and get away from blitzers (I have 50 team scheme, he has 88 speed for me and 90+ acceleration and agility) in the same way as other players who have used freaking Lamar Jackson, Braxton, and Milroe who just seem to take off instantly and get away from my guys to the side line.
And on the rare occasion I do get time to block... still, no one can get open. I have Restrepo maxed out, Velling, Justin Jefferson, Ricky White, all again with the +2 speed. No one can get an open for a throw. Is it how cheap the cornerback market has become!? Everyone just has perfect lockdown defense every single time. If one of them does get a step on a deep route I used to be able to launch the ball, place it perfectly, and get those touchdowns. Now it just seems like the corners and safeties just catch up while the ball is in the air and just intercept it over their shoulder without even jumping or turning around.
As someone who was really, really good at this game and won multiple national championships I really can't help but notice the massive difficulty spike as of late. It's frustrating as hell. I'm sure it's all dynamic difficulty and EA wanting me to pump more and more money into this game.
