Decision for next game

So what are we thinking for the next installment? I stopped playing madden when cfb25 released and I was happy with it gameplay wise. Now that we’re through this season with cfb26 I’m debating which one to get for 27. Overall I feel like cfb26 took a huge step back in dropping players and names we all love to see in ultimate team. To the point it has me thinking madden is the move for 27. I want to stay with cfb but I’m worried it is going to be stale again throughout the year and with the new gameplay features I’m thinking it will be a good time to change back to madden. What are yall thoughts on this?

Not buying Madden! 1st time since 1992. Its a childish OOP circus now. So sad. EA ruined it. Plus all the start in the zone OP abilities make it pathetic. Yesterday I was just trying to enjoy it and this guy has Lawrence frickin Taylor as his RB and every other position had an OOP. Sooooooooooooooo sad, that is not football EA. Its NOT in the game ....as you would say!

Madden. Much much more content. Soo many more players. This last madden offered much more free players compared to any other madden ive played before. Actual good cards vs the crappy ones we'd get through cut.  I play CUT when im bored with Madden. I purchased the MVP bundle for both games. Im hoping they do ALOT more in the new college game. Add normal sets. Release normal packs. And less of the bnd crap.

I will be playing all CUT on the Ultimate Tean side, but I still play Madden just not MUT.   I just put together an all-OSU team and play through Dynasty mode. I just not a huge fan on how madden plays and feels.  College Football is just a cooler game.

Madden has literally become unplayable. I'm not talking about gameplay, my menu's literally freeze every time I load it up. The amount of times I have to close out and restart is crazy. Overall CFB is just better though, the only thing I don't care for is the random overthrows

I’m sticking with cfb, reasons are because a good team is actually affordable & you can’t have a million 0ap abilities on 1 card. I don’t really mind the oop cards on madden but it is kinda dumb having a 6’8 300 pound lineman playing receiver 😂

This is how I've felt about Madden since Madden 20 or so. The Abilities/Xfactors became way too crazy that I stopped enjoying the game. Cards getting 15 0 ap abilities is just ridiculous. Then add in that they have someone like Jonathan Ogden having an OOP Safety card with this insane ability stack and the game becomes something I have no interest in playing. 

CFB has it's issues, but it feels a lot more barebones and toned town in comparison to Madden. The abilities don't feel overpowered at all and really just kind of feel like an added bonus when using them. The first time I felt an ability was "broken" was once we got Graduation and Alumni Rewind cards with baked on Heisman abilities, but since we're in the end game, I can let it slide.

It’s refreshing to see people agreeing that Madden specifically MUT is unplayable. About 6 months ago I was saying our community wanted better content in the form of better player selection, my exact words were “we want the college version or active NFL players” all the old heads on the post kept saying “go play MUT”. MUT is a joke, they’re teetering the line of CUT becoming a joke. I’m not a fan of OOP especially as egregiously as they did it this year CUT. For me I won’t be playing CFB27 off the jump, I plan to join in maybe March of 2027 when the games meta is out the way and it’s an even playing field as far squad versus squad. Just my two cents.

Update: Also, the card selection in CFB25 was significantly superior. In CFB26 we have had to choose abilities over players that we actually like.

Wow thank you all for the responses. I was tempted to maybe change to Mut for this upcoming season but you guys solidified a lot of things I was on the fence about. Staying loyal to cfb with all that said

Yeah I love cut and will play CUT 27 day 1 until end game with enjoyment.  I like the franchise mode and madden but MUT hasn’t been fun to me having Dan Marino at kicker and Brock bowers my safety just kills it for me lol.  I don’t understand how people enjoy it, I don’t like the what if on cut but have enjoyed every other program on 26.  I hated the Greek mythology, Zeus, Thanos on 25 but loved how many NFL players from Ole Miss were in 25 that didn’t make 26   

I did indeed buy the mvp+ bundle just based off of all the rewards I get in cut 27 for $150.  Plus things in madden if I ever wanted to play(probably won’t) was the best bang for buck

I was NCAA only until it went away and then I begrudgingly moved to Madden and MUT. 

After two years of playing both, I won’t be buying Madden this year. It’s honestly too much work to keep up with two metas.

Not buying either NCAA or Madden this year.

Think EA will let you buy from the auction house in 27'? Pretty sure it was you that said you weren't able to buy and sell players, right?
