They better keep day games for h2h.

Upgrading players. Milstones to do this should only be attained h2h.

Keep the power creep slow.

And great news about chem not upgrading speed. Make other attributes matter and keep realistic speed gaps.

IMO, not upgrading speed is not to balance the game, there is a reason why  it's the top of every scheme and theme, it is a vital characteristic in how the game uses its die rolls when determining and outcome (more so than height which at best may be a sprite trait).  I kept older players around because the speed boost  scheme and theme gives my players. This was done to raise  auction prices and for us to buy more packs with $$.

It shouldnt be. The fact speed is by far the most important attribute shows the game is not good... ??... no

Other attributes should be just as valuable

I'm excited the all the new defensive stuff. A lot to learn but I think it will make defense more fun. ✌️

They’re selling y’all a dream, and using YT & TikTok content creators to draw y’all in even more. If you’re going to play the game, just hop in when the 95s start dropping or 97s. It’ll be a much more fun experience then starting with 83 or 85 overalls. But to each its own….

I am the exact opposite. I stop playing when all the 97s 99s come out.

Start of all UTs is the best for me.

I am not intending to pick an argument, just trying qualify my initial statement incorporating your question.

Speed being important:  It is very important in the actual sport, hence the 40 yard dash times at the combine.  In game terms it has to be important. A sprite's positioning in the play area, that is simple V= d/t.  Since only one sprite can occupy a position in the play area it becomes even more important. With that, speed relative to other sprites in the playing area becomes the most vital statistic since it is a key factor in both the game engine and since the game tries to emulate real life, in that aspect too. I hope players of the game realize that the game speed we see, is a lot slower that in real life, if it was actual we would not be able to play it or enjoy it.

Should it be just as valuable as other attributes, perhaps and other attributes could be just as important , it depends how the game engine factors it.  Uncontested movement is probably Speed (-/+ acceleration) (-/+ field conditions) = result (position) and maybe awareness, and I am guessing that the engine does not perform a die roll. For the linemen (once again a guess) it is probably AWR=result (who moves first), Then SPD vs ACC, and when the two linemen make contact  IBL vs IBL (die roll result) then depending on the situation BSH vs block finesse or power die roll, and it keeps going adjusting every second of a play (it is probably in 1/10ths of seconds).  Since speed is factored (IMO) first in many situations, means that is factored first, and in a string first is best (look up Markov Chains, wild stuff).

I know some will flame me for saying "die roll", and what that means is a randomly generated mathematical result it is why a pass that is easy is still only completed 9 out of 10 times.

As far as the game being good or bad, it is like getting into a fistfight with someone over what their favorite color is, it has no answer and is personal opinion.  I don't think the game sucks, I have played the heck out of CFB27, it was a great way to relieve stress after work or just to mindlessly  kill some time. I have said, no game is perfect or emulates real life, and if one were to be created we would not want to play it.  Others probably play the game for other reasons and have a different point of view that leads them to say that the game sucks (ex. I want to be the best at it).

While I cannot prove this, folks that go on these forums that say negative things about the game most likely play it a lot more with me and play it for different reasons. People who say "I am done with the game" or "not getting CFB27, this game sucks") probably do not quit and end up preordering the next edition of the  game. I say this because when I see a person post "I quit" or "I am done", I look at all of their previous posts... One person  on this forum seemed to quit the game and was done with it almost every 5-7 weeks. Other who have said they quit the game will then make a post showing that they still play the game and did not quit.

I think the game is good, but I stated my reasons for playing (skipped one, it is good to see my Alma Mater, Syracuse, do better in the game than IRL. I also have a feeling you like the game as well, it is fun.

Pick away. I am all for opinions.

Good post.

I only played the 10 hours with ea play and that was the last couple weeks. I didnt enjoy CFB 25 and I bought that (3 hours played)

And it wasnt really CFBs fault. I just had madden fatigue and  it carried over.

To clarify my point a little more. I dont have an issue with speee being important (because it is and should be)

I have an issue with speed being handed out to players that "dont deserve it"

I know UT the last ten years has become gimmicky and arcade like. But I think keeping a speed gap, makes the game play better.

I dislike that in order to make a 350lbs DT look sexy enough for money on packs, he has to be given WR speed.

I realise I am totally in the minority. But i like realistic ratings. People say go play online h2h etc. But I enjoy the team building of UT.

I can't believe how long I played this year and I agree with you.  It has nothing to do with the game but when football stops I usually lose some interest in these games but CUT did a great job.  Bo Jackson and a couple of other cards kept me going strong.  I have more fun with new players, trying new playbooks, and playing as different teams;  Otherwise this game would get really stale.  I hope they continue to get some great names for 27 like Barry Sanders, Jim Kelly,  or other classic players in the fold.  This game is almost like a version of fantasy football it gets me interested in watching other programs which outside of the Big Ten and SEC I watched very little of the other conferences until I played this.

Total agreement and I knew you were just asking a question. The game has to emulate our perception of reality and that example you give is perfect

As for  the gimmicks players pull in multi player, I do not play vs folks I don’t know from outside the game.  When you see a QB drop back and dance 20 yards behind the LoS, they are not playing the sport as intended, it’s about their ego, and they use every exploit they can to win. TBH, if winning online meant that much to me I would have ask question myself as to my life choices and goals. I was on the BoD of a military affiliated E-Sports group and since this anonymous, I don’t get a lot of it, especially the winning. I a military member can deal better with life by winning, total fan, but few are.

Sorry for the diversion

We have probably discussed before, but i agree, when everyone is a 99, no one is a 99. Having every position be the same defeats the purpose of building a team or looking for advantages.

I wish CUT could find something like Salary Cap mode used to be on MUT. Each team was unique and each game was balanced. True competitive gaming.

Youtube for me has ruined online h2h a little. And I am being a little cheeky there in so much as, its annoying that there arent as many bad players around these days to beat.

But for e.g.  I enjoy h2h but I always use a theme and dont chase the best players. I also mix up playcalling, even if something works, as it gets boring for me.

I understand some just want Ws.  But as you say, there are bigger priorities.

Couldnt agree more.

This is how UT was originally in FiFa.
