What plays and/or formations use the gadget player? Also what position is he put into with these plays/formations?

Im pretty sure you can use the gadget in any formation but they’ll usually play the slot receiver or halfback

So if u have a wr at gadget i can sub them in at rb and vice versa for hb at wr you are saying essentially?

As for the the gadget receiver at rb  yes but for the hb at slot I think it would substitute your te 2 to the slot but it really depends on your lineup.

I never understood which plays were 'gadgets' but many of the videos online certain playbooks like Rice, Bowling Green, and Western Kentucky were always mentioned as having great 'gadgets'.
