I’ve tested this over and over, and it’s becoming pretty clear that traits don’t really matter this year and are purely visual or under-tuned.
Cards with zero traits are performing identical to those loaded with “yes” toggles across the board.
Examples:
91 OVR Jardin Gilbert — No traits on but was the best safety in the game for some time making insane plays. And still is for some teams, a monster at FS, SS, CB and as a user.
- Defensive linemen — I’ve used DTs with “Power Moves: Yes / Finesse: No” and others with “No / Yes.” And used DTs & DEs with literally no traits and still both shed, bull rush, and win the same amount of reps.
WRs/TEs — They all catch the same no matter the traits. I’ve never noticed differences and still don’t. Deion Sanders WR cards are proof of that.
People keep acting like traits make or break a card, but I’ve been running 91 OVR Jardin Gilbert at CB1 with zero defensive traits no “Play Ball in Air: Aggressive,” no “High Motor,” no “Big Hitter.”
All he’s got is Bronze Ballhawk, and he still plays like an absolute monster. Jumps routes, makes perfect breaks on the ball, and hits like he’s got every trait lit up.
At this point, it’s clear that traits are basically placebo this year or EA either turned them off behind the scenes or they’re bugged. That’s just my opinion on traits this year . . .
