Looks like the Saudi's are going to buy EA for 55 Billion. If it goes through, this will be the last EA game I'll ever buy. You think EA is bad now, just wait.

Private Equity firms generally use crappy tactics to increase short term profitability in the short term to flip the company within 5 years. In the short term, EA's product will be WORSE. It's not until after the sale from the PE firm that you can hope for things to slowly get better.
And your Nintendo example actually proves the OP's point. Nintendo has been doing fine, but it's base has never been more upset. The problem is the base is addicted and does not have the fortitude to withhold their consumer dollars. Probably same can be said for Ultimate Team players.
