NEVER USE EMPTY PROTECTION . Play action plays cancel stunts (even if ur runningbacks on a route) or simply just double the opp d end off tightend.

i take your point. it's a bit unrealistic to limit my offense to only play action plays. i was hoping for a bit of a better solution

simply just double team the de on the opp side and u wanna be sending 5 out

Occasionally scrambling out with your quarterback helps too. Since both ends are crashing in, you can get to the outside if you hold R immediately and run to the play side for a qb run or pass down field a few plays throughout the game.
