What are the negatives of playing a player out of position? And does this apply to just where you put them in the roster or on the field? For example I put Jacas as a sub edge rusher even though he's a SAM LB, and he plays really well. Is there a penalty for this? And what about playing a left edge at right edge?
I think Awareness is the primary thing that takes a hit when playing OOP. The only time I've ever noticed a negative impact is running smaller DEs at DT. They just get pushed around it feels like. Especially in this game.
I have never had an issue running an OLB at DE, Safety at CB, RT at LT, TE at WR, etc.. They've all played about as well as you could imagine.

Good points, I wish there was more transparency about things like this in the game because a lot of it is just guess work. I'm still not entirely sure what awareness even does lol.
