Why is everyone running cover 2 out of double mug?

Every single person I play is running a defense they got from the internet. Does anyone know who put this out? Why everybody running the same play?

I run a variety of coverages from double mug, but I didn't pick it up from the internet. I do it cos if I line up in double mug you are likely to think i'm blitzing, that way I catch you out when you rush a throw. Cover 2 trap is the best for that.

Double mug is cake to run on. 

Most effective blitzes are coming out of the 6-1 esque types due to the beef on the line, and pure speed on the edges.

they are most likely running the texas stunt, and tosses work rly good against it

Because if you do blitz the lineman aren’t coded well enough to block it with another blocker. I’ve quite literally seen a tackle pass set out to meet a guy rushing off the edge and then teleport to double team a d tackle.

Yeah but I don’t cheese the blitz. I like to play more sim style. So I will throw an odd blitz here and there but I like mixing coverages.

As they say, with great power comes great responsibility.

Plus stopping the blitz is easy:

Half slide towards HB

Set the HB to a check and release

Then untarget the user if they hover over the line

Yeah my problem is with the other guys who have an 88 LTD worth 500k+ at safety and nuts corners my guys never get open against man beating routes. I think I’m just gonna start cheesing with my running back with HB direct. Something to cheese them and nobody else.
