There was an update today and it appears that someone decided to change or remove certain NOTG sets, but did not remove the tokens we had placed in the sets before making the change.
EA....Please Return Our NOTG Tokens!

whats the point of putting stuff into sets like even if you don't put it in the set it still shows your progress. ik its a glitch, but its happens all the time and you should be more careful

I would think that standard operating procedure for EA would entail, removing all players and tokens from sets before making any changes. It should be the first thing they do before making any set changes. Otherwise, people could start to question what they are doing, their motives, etc.

why even lock it into the set tho if this has happened before, there is no benefit to doing so
There was a time last year where they actually removed tokens that weren’t in a set, so your’re damned if you do and damned if you don’t. How about EA just QAs their releases properly before release so they don’t break with each release or update.
