I’m struggling to run the ball, I seem to get swarmed every time I try, be good to hear some plays or approaches you guys use.
If you don't already, try not to hit turbo until after the line of scrimmage, or when you get to a little open field. When you hold turbo off rip, the defense tends to shed faster making it harder to get chunk yards. I've had good look with HB zone out of some pistol sets, stretch plays, and traps/counters on occasion have worked for me.

Yeah I’m quite carful not to, I think maybe I’m running from run heavy sets and people are run committing. But when I try and mix in ply action I struggle to get the throw off before being hit.

It's actually not a tendency but an animation fact, they noted way back as soon as you hit turbo, all blockers give up the block in pursuit of the next level blocking.
I'm a run pro, but I've learned how to pass. I like the pistol because it used to include the power option. Moore and Jackson both with press pro. If they zero me, it's almost an instant touchdown, if they sit 2 deep, grinding the run stays consistent.

I'll have to try press pro. I'm not a run heavy player, but I try to keep it about 55/45 pass/run. Haven't experimented too much with receiver abilities due to AP cost elsewhere.
If you flip this run to the other side, it does a really good job of getting to the outside, especially against people running Cover 0 plays like Mid Blitz:

I run flip quite a bit. Definitely works. Ill even do a flip, then motion my strong side wide receiver. With proper timing, the motion man will pick up a key block for a gap run gain. Sometimes bad pursuit will lead to an outside sideline run td

What formations do you like out of pistol?

I cant even think right now, but I know the playbook is in the database if you get bored. Pistol. Tes on same side. 1 wr on each side. Super basic, but I try to let the defense dictate what I go with
For short like 3 to 4 yard gains half back direct works pretty well for me
Duo outta Bowling green playbook im getting 6 yard per play on 380 attempts I like it but idk how Duo runs are in other playbooks
