are there any “must have” cards? I have 400k and not sure who i should pick up.

I'd look for a rental if i were you. Maybe someone like Kade Phillips for 280-290k.

That's like 40k for a top end CB in the game.

I agree with this. I’ve been left holding the bag enough times with how fast contents been coming out that I am only investing in rentals right now. 

That said, the free Harris from The Tower solos is fantastic and surprisingly leading my team in picks! The guide on this site is super helpful. It’s a grind but like others have said, more so because it’s long and boring vs being difficult.
