Did they get the balance right this year?
I don’t mind that select abilities are more OP than others within reason. I would like to seem them weighted a little more balanced with ratings. Or maybe have the ability to upgrade abilities on a point scale so you’re not forced to field a lineup with all discount ability players where basically every team you play h2h has the same team. Upgrading abilities would add some variety to that and another variable to consider with lineup building, plus EA could still make their money while not forcing us to sell our favorites.
Platinum takeoff is still too overpowered

Yeah that was my feeling. I haven’t played all year but want to play either Madden or CFB next year and so far I think gameplay including abilities is better in CFB but content better in MUT. I’m also more of an NFL guy but the game play feels so much better in CFB
I think they nailed abilities this year besides take off. Take off is way to overpowered and has no true counter. Every other ability are very balanced imo
I notice the abilities are also very expensive compared to madden
My thoughts are they don’t always mean anything if the player you go against is levels worse than you are or is an AI account ran by EA to stop Non-Content Creators from going on large enough streaks to build much momentum. They are really great until they turn off against a 95ovr team. Makes the entire system mean little.

You easily counter takeoff by putting a 95 speed DB in front on Randy Moss in H2H. Trust me on this one.

if someone wants arcade gameplay they are fine. games are decided by the randomness of abilities triggering. would be nice to have UT mode where there are not abilities.
Even with extender and plat takeoff being crazy OP i dont mind it i think they got it right. The OP blitzes that everybody runs is hard to do with the abilities so it evens the game out. Ive had some sacks that ive broken that i was like thank god and also have had some sacks get broken that i was mad about.
