I did this and you are absolutely right. Zay Jones ends up about two yards downfield faster than Mike Evans.
Something else I noticed is that Travis Hunter gets absolutely blown by while Jalen Ramsey sticks to his guy pretty well.

you can also back everybody off. I did this until I could get Plat Robber on my 3 deep dbs.

yeah, I think I will start doing the same. Something I learned just now in practice mode is that part of my problem was using a cover two shell and calling cover three. My outside corners would get burnt and my safety couldn’t catch up.
i have a theory that the players in the game are treated like cars with speed and not humans, so i think the heavier players arent actually as fast as light players of the same size
i think a 5'10 170lb WR will actually run faster than a 6'5" 230lb LB even if they both have 99 speed, like a lighter car vs a heavier car with the same horsepower

yup that travis hunter thing I had to learn the hard way. Its the man archetype. I tested it out and a few other low ovr man corners do it too. he's basically unplayable at outside cb so I use him at fs

Interesting theory. It would explain why Cooper is such a good rb. He’s very small and moves really well.

no I'm saying some man to man corners have a Bug where they dont bail quick enough against takeoff. they get beat alot even if they are backed up. hunter is one of them.

Interesting. How do you tell which ones do and which ones don’t?
I do not have a definitive answer and I think almost all of us feel the same way at times. I got so frustrated, I put press pro on my guys as well (or whatever the beat press ability is called). Didn't seem to help.
That said, I have games where my takeoffs have great success and my D has no problem with theirs. Here is my working theory:
D alignment makes a big impact. I have noticed that on certain defenses vs certain offensive alignments, some of my defenders do not line up over their guy. Even if man coverage, they will line up 3 yards to the inside or outside. I think this allows the takeoff unimpeded progress, to which my D will not be able to recover.
Just my current theory...
I honestly think it depends on the play that you do it with. Like Y Sail is a great one that bursts down the field. Receivers who are more inside seem to get better animations off the line.
I think it's just taller receivers aren't as good with it. I use it on both Amari cooper and drake London. And Cooper does way better with it than london

Im assuming you run moss and Evans at 1 & 2 together on the outsides right. Those routes don’t benefit nearly as much as your slot wr running a dideferent route tree in more space and your te running drags, flats, and corners(on a safety or lb). It just isn’t as noticeable on the outside guys running more vertical routes. Plus they look clunky and slower even tho they aren’t. I still run takeoff on moss, but I never move it off my slot guy or my TE. It’s mismatch he’ll for d on those two
