I see a lot of people on the forums praising the House Call ability over Ballhawk. Does House Call only increase your chance to catch an interception instead of swatting or does it also activate some extra reaction that results in getting to balls you otherwise wouldn't get to?
Struggling to understand why people consider it so good. Maybe I'm just naive to the amount of picks my guys drop.
I’m guessing house calls are more common just because they are one point cheaper than ballhawks. You can get more house calls on the field.
Interceptions are so valuable though. It’s hard to get stops over and over. If my guy is close I want him to catch the ball.
My understanding is that the House Call ability not only improves the player‘s ability to catch the ball, but it also grants the player INT/Catching animations that without House Call active you would never be able to make a play on. (i.e. making considerably more athletic plays on the ball in the air, more fluid jump-catch animations, etc.)
In my experience with using both, Ballhawk gave me a couple more opportunities for my DBs to get pass break ups/tackle attempts since they broke on the ball faster. House call has resulted in more takeaways since you get better catch animations, especially with safeties from what I can tell. Currently running Blanket Coverage on CB1 CB2 and Ballhawk on FS1 SS1
