How are abilities CUT vs MUT?

I hated the introduction of abilities and x factors in madden, it’s what killed it for me. I’ve heard they aren’t as OP in CUT, is that the case? Looking for some views on them in CUT vs MUT please, thanks.

Same reason I left Madden. All that crap made it start to feel more and more arcade like. I didn't feel that nearly as much with CFB this yr. That said, I fear the "improvements" to CFB will follow that crap model. Hope I am wrong.
