I'm running CFB25 NMS - minus the pre-order points. I wanted to share my strategy in hopes that it will help others, especially early on in the CUT cycle.
I am building my team around cards that hold their value. How am I doing that? My investing in "rental" cards or BNDs only. I'm not going out and buying high end cards so early and even low end cards, I'm not unless they have a coin quicksell (i.e. Platinum cards).
The 82 overall market is currently sitting close to 20k. I have *attempted* to attach a screenshot from overnight. I purchased 3 82 platinum cards for a total of 183k. Those 3 cards quicksell for 60k each (180k total) and so when I am finished or have better upgrades down the road, I can quicksell them and get pretty much all of my coins back. Whereas if you purchased a normal 82 overall it would cost 20k and the value would drop significantly over the next month.
The downside to this is you have to have more coins to purchase upfront, but it saves your coin stack longterm. I have 2 LTDs that I've purchased. Ollie Gordon for 250k (quicksells for 175k - 75k rental for an 86 overall (for reference at the same position RB Chris Johnson is over 300k - so Gordon is a 1/4 of the price) and Roquan Smith for 290k (115k rental price) for reference Bradley Chubb is also 300k (so Smith is 1/3 of the price).
If you can accumulate the coins by playing online and then build your team using "rental value" cards, it will save your coin stack longterm and set you up for success down the road. When you're finished with that player, you can quicksell him (or try to sell him for more than his quicksell value on the AH). Platinum cards obviously won't be useable for as long in the game cycle, but they are useable now.
Again, just sharing for those who may not know or realize this and are trying to stay NMS... Hope it helps.
