This game brings out the worst in some people. It‘s always refreshing to run into someone who is chill and just likes to talk football and give tips. Unfortunately it’s a lot more common to run into toxic sweats.

I cant do it any other way but if you pause twice then press the pause button again it should give you a little menu, you can mute them there

I have my PS5 controller muted, have never heard an opponent.

Press start to bring up the pause menu during game .. as soon as you go back into game press start again and a mini menu will pop up with mute opponent option. It costs a pause in the game to do but that's how you do it. So pause - go back into game and then pause immediately again and option will show

It's crazy that you have to choose between your one pause in the game and muting an opponent..

On PS5 create a party with only YOU in it. Then go play the game
You will not be able to hear your opponent unless you add them to your party. It's the only way I play now unless I know the person I get linked up with.

im on Xbox so I usually just turn my chat volume down to zero or go into an empty party chat. Idk how it is on PlayStation.
Some people are so hateful over this game for no reason lol. I just laugh at them if a video game causes them to crash out.
