realistically how much money would i have to spend to get 650k coins?

150$ = 500k coins on the low, 1.5M on the high end.  Expect 500k you could pull a 2M card or 1M card and others from packs.  Never know.

Buddy, start with 40 k..... Coins. 

Filter auction house to 94-95 spend your first 27k -30 k on a player that sells for 40-50 k  sometimes you'll find even higher resale.

Rinse, repeat, don't even gotta pull out the wallet I make about 200 k daily, I log in use that filter, go through each position check the newest and check the buy now, the second you see a low price flip that tab over to catalog to check resale price today, if it's not high enough for a ten k profit minus tax, move on, just quickly flip left bumper or L1 back to auction house and move on, if you don't see any, put the controller down walk away, come back in an hour or two run through it again. Same process, I usually buy and list about twenty a day. Should have been doing this from the start..... BTW don't give in to recruit packs they made that blue 80 plus pack all pretty and fancy but, a 91 doesn't even make your money back if your that lucky.... ✌🏼 Peace , anybody reading try this, you'll quickly change how you feel about the game, it won't make you feel like it's a waste.... 🤟🏼
