I was using hyperbole lol. The point being kind of what you said though- a kid that's played for years would already be running what you can find on youtube. Most of it isn't football logic it's EA "how can i beat this AI" logic rather than what concepts counter what coverages etc.

Absolutely not. I mean, if you're rocking an 88 overall team and you get matched up against a guy who spends money and has a 96 overall, you're going to get smoked unless you're a top 5 player in the world.
However, you can absolutely win and do very well in the game without spending money. It just takes being good at the game and grinding out rewards to get coins and players. I'm a 96 overall who has spent a little bit (probably 100-150 dollars or so). I've played guys who were equal or higher overall than me and crushed them, but I have also played 93 overall teams who absolutely demolished me as well. It's all about finding a good scheme and knowing what you're doing at the end of the day.
