Season 5 is extremely underwhelming, and overall the mode is just the same rinse and repeat (even with this being the first year of the game technically, it's a clear copy and paste of mut). I think going forward there has to be a shift in CUT (mut as well, but different issues with it being so comp scene centric).
1. We have to have alternate uniforms, and general more cosmetic options. there's no reason that uniforms already in the game and accessible in every other mode are kept out of cut. Would be really cool to assign your team sleeve/band/hoodie colors- probably for some legal reason would have to be based on uniform choice, but would still be cool say if you're wearing wyoming unis- I want all my players cleats yellow (secondary color 2 or whatever), or something along those lines.
2. Overhaul the lineup screen. Quit forcing us to carry a fullback and 4 LBs/3 TEs etc. This one is a little more complicated but there's no reason everything should be position locked as tight as it is. Change the fullback slot to a utility position and then let that spot be subbed anywhere on the field, same with defense and one of the LBs or something. Football has and continues to move more towards positionless personnel, we should be able to reflect that. "People would just cheese with OOP players"- not really an argument when they've tightened up speed differential so much to the point of it being almost non existent (Does it really matter if you're playing someone with TT boosted Engram at TE or Isiah Bond?) to the point that it really would just be a more fun/creative way of playing. MUT has been overly tight on it because they're beholden to comp- which is a nightmare in itself.
3. Change the AH/Sets- I'm just going to say MLB the show's system of collection/AH is a cool way of doing it- but there's other ways as well. I also think a BND exchange set would make a lot of sense with how heavily that's been leaned into.
those are just the first things that come to mind when I think about how the game could be better, but there's probably a million different ways, but the bottom line is I just hope that there's some sort of actual innovation into the game mode after the past 10+ years of minimal structural changes.
