Some defenses are definitely getting to the point now where it's worth it. Im at 47/50 3-3-5 tite. I just can't let go of Mack and Parsons at LOLB cause I love those dudes off the edge. Plus they are both BND along with a couple others so...

Theme: Worth it. You lower the cost by picking a team with 2x +5 Chems from the rivals promo (*see below), or have a lot of high OVRs that you plan on using anyway, or using backup spots with lower OVRs from that team.

Scheme: Depends on your playbook. On offense Air Raid, Pro Style, Spread and Pistol are solid. You can get up to 54/50 with all spots filled including K/P and 2x scheme cards (that's not even counting the expensive LTDs that can get any scheme). That means you can have 4 'cheat' spots in the lineup and can even sneak in up to 3 more using specialist positions like SLWR, PWHB, LS, etc.

*Rivals teams with 2 cards: GT, Georgia, Texas, OU, WVU, Pitt, Cal, Stanford, Miss St, Ole Miss, Auburn, Alabama, Washington, Wash St., Michigan, USC, UCLA, Indiana, Purdue, Clemson, South Carolina, UF, FSU, Wisconsin, Minnesota

I played my first few weeks on Power Spread and am kinda locked into it now but it's crazy that this late in the game you can't even get a Chemistry TT with Power Spread. There are no K/P and only 1 fb. Maybe I am missing something but they are the only chemistry that is currently not able to complete. They dont have any Scheme Spotlight players yet so I can't get boosts there.

The others that require some finessing:

Option O - does not have 2 FB either but has 1 kicker and 2 punters so I think you could make up for the 2nd FB there

Spread Option - does not have 2 FB but has 1 kicker and 1 punter so you can make up for the 2nd FB there

Hopefully the 2nd FB comes soon, or they release a FB Scheme Spotlight but I messed up with Power Spread haha.

Yeah ovr-wise you can do it, I would just hate having names drop that I like and can't use- or trying to decide what "off-scheme" player I want. Definitely cool that they have the boost for you guys that love the ovr jump, just not viable for most/fun in general (if you care about names)

I would consider this approach. If I pull a card bnd I change the team chem if I think it's going to be in my lineup for a while. WRs, MLBs, DTs, CBs tend to stay in the lineup for a while (4-5 slots for those positions). When I bought Reggie several weeks back I waited and sniped him for a price that was 15K less than the market value. I quickly put the TT chem on him because I just bought for a good price and getting Reggie to +2 speed was easily worth it. If I buy a card that fits my scheme but not going to be in my lineup for a while, or purchase at market value I usually don't spend the 15k because I can't justify it. A player that's going to change your wins and losses though can easily be worth the 15k though. Just my 2 cents.

I've basically ignored scheme chemistry to this point, but realized that I have enough Pro Style guys already in my lineup that I'm going to start leaning Pro Style for future adds when choosing between similar players.

Now I just need to learn a new playbook, had been Air Raid, but have started toying with Utah's Pro Style a bit

Certain teams have Rival Cards that give additional team points like Georgia and Texas this saves you on the 15,000 for team scheme for several players  - if you're doing both Team and Playbook then most of your players will be playbook and then turned into team theme for 15,000 upgrade by player 

As for which playbook schemes to use: check out the THEME TEAMS tab on this site it gives the top players for each playbook scheme 

The recently released Scheme Spotlight cards give an extra boost of 1 for the playbook type matching the card 

Also the limited Cards in Scheme Spotlight can be turned into any playbook style to match what you are doing (like with team theme)
