i was thinking about creating an oregon theme team but i’m a little unsure on how it works. will the theme teams end when the playoffs do ? i remember the rating bein connected with the rankings so just wanted to be sure lo. i don’t wanna waste 200,000k on a few weeks
get the best players don't worry about theme teams

yea i’m goin to have coin left tho…
I don't think anyone knows the answer
It used to be OP when they had the top15/5 boosts. My Oregon theme got +4 accel +2 speed etc.. but now it's down to +2 accel/+1 speed which isn't the big of a game changer.
For those of you who do madden ultimate team, what happens when we stop getting overall increases for players? Is a theme team the strategy then?
I feel like right now it can be one or the other, a theme team will get you a pretty high ovr with the boosts, but once we max out ovr on new releases, god squads will plateau and im assuming theme teams will catch up. Do the theme/team chems beat out a composite team?
Obviously I realize that overall is not the only indicator of success, just curious on what the community gravitates to when this happens. It seems like we will be getting 98s with season 5, so we would have all of season 6 being 96-99. With the legend champion being a 99.
In my mind it seems theme teams will take over.
According to the lineup builder, right now, a true god squad would be 94/94/95/92 and set you back 16.4 mil. A theme team of pro style and 4-3 would be 92/92/92/92 without the chem/team boosts I believe, and only be 6.56 mil + 720k to change to Notre Dame. Assuming the pro style and 4-3 get a few upgrades in the next two seasons I think a theme team might still be the way to go.
What are your thoughts and and past experiences with this game mode?

Kgall, it's alwasy been about the themes and chemistries and playstyles for these game modes across different sports games. This will become much more apparent as teams plateau like you said. It will be a great day when you can truly customize your team around the schemes you want for very low coin due to the surplus of choices hopefully!

To add to this, but I am not as hopeful it happens. Lots of games once plateau at 99 start releasing the same players but at different positions for example 2K ultimate team will release a Michael Jordan Point Guard and Power Forward etc. Or a Shaquille O'neal small forward. You get the picture.

I did see a MUT video with Calvin Johnson in the secondary, it just didn't sit right with me haha.

I think I saw that too haha, I think the guy was playing in punt return safe defense though. Might try it out for fun.
Every time I think about doing a theme team when I have 250k I just decide to rip it all on packs and I have way more fun. Screw throwing 250k into theme teaming my players. I play fine without it and not worth the coins ill never get back
like someone else said. when there was the top 15 boosts it was worth it. I did it and you could tell the difference. was also making budget cards close to top cards, but now I only have like 38/50 and still decreasing cause it's just not worth the coins to replace the benefits when you can just pick up most top 5 cards for the cost of having to replace all the new guys you get. overall it's not as important and for 750k it takes to make 50/50 you could buy a stacked team of top 8 to 4 with some top 2 guys and not even notice the difference.
