WRs not even trying to catch Lob passes

Anyone know why WRs when you use L1 (ps5) to throw a high point ball just refuse to even put their hands up?

 I am constantly getting blues timed throws using placement and accuracy, the WR is wide open and the ball just sales over their head without even trying to catch it (all they have to do is put their hands up and the ball is right there), I had tried not using left stick to aim to see if that fixes it (it does not).

 Just not understanding at all why the timing is blue but the ball is uncatchable? This happens multiple times a game on what should be TDs.
