Bidding has been disabled in the AH for a little over a week now. EA discovered some issue being caused by bidding and shut down the AH for a bit before only allowing Buy Now.

Unfortunately, I've never run into an issue like this so I don't really have an answer. I've placed bids in the past well under a minute and didn't have any issues.
